My major interest for scholarly work relates to the areas of bilingualism and multicultural issues in speech-language pathology. My thesis for fulfilling the requirements of the Master of Arts degree at the University of Northern Iowa focuses on phonological interference in Russian-English bilinguals, and the role of language dominance in speaking. My thesis served as my first step to prepare me for in-depth research within the areas of bilingualism and speech-language pathology.
Currently I work as a graduate research assistant in Bilingual Language and Literacy Lab under the directorship of Dr. M. Adelaida Restrepo for Vocabulary and Abstract Language Enhancement (VALE) project.
I am also working on my first year PhD project, which focuses on exploring crosslinguistic influence in Russian-English bilingual children.
